KEY FUNCTIONS
- Prepare all accounting entries to the trial balance stage
- Maintain Accounts Receivables Ledger, ensuring the accurate and timely posting of accounting transactions
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and remittance of invoices to clients and/or participants
- Follow up with clients and participants to ensure the timely receipt of payments on outstanding balances
- Prepare weekly and monthly receivables aging report
- Prepare and post journal vouchers in respect of daily accounting transactions and adjustments to accounts
- Prepare reports and schedules in compliance with reporting requirements
- Make recommendations for improving internal controls and safeguards
- Maintain appropriate internal control and safeguards
- Recommend methods and systems for improving the accounting, budget, risk management, strategic and operational planning processes and performance accountability and reporting
- Perform other related functions as directed by the Director, Finance / Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Association of Accounting Technician, Certified Accounting Technician or Equivalent designation/ qualification.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in accounting
- Experience using accounting software
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
- The Financial, Administration and Audit Act (FAA)
- Basic accounting practices and practices
Ability to:
- Maintain manual and computerized accounting records
- Perform and verify the accuracy of basic arithmetic computations
- Conduct effective interviews; evaluate financial statements; compose letters and convey facts and information in a courteous, tactful, and firm manner; gather and summarize data; prepare clear and comprehensive reports; respond tactfully and in a timely fashion to inquiries from the public
- Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals
- Perform work with accuracy, speed, and minimal supervision
- Compose correspondence and reports independently or from brief instructions
- Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner; organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines
- Exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs
- Use tact, initiative, prudence, and independent judgment within general policy, procedural, and legal guidelines
- Maintain strict confidentiality
