Teacher Librarian

Job Description:
  • Managing budgets
  • Organizing resources in an accessible way
  • Stock maintenance, including the weeding out of old resources
  • Anticipating school needs and trends to ensure library services are used as much as possible
  • Developing the use of ICT to improve service delivery
  • Dealing with enquiries and assisting library users in accessing ICT and other resources
  • A commitment to prepare lesson plans and produce them at specific dates required by the Head of Department
  • To prepare and grade class work, homework, tests and quizzes
  • Research and prepare specialized materials for out of class reading and homework
  • Engage students with different levels of ability using the most appropriate learning strategies
  • Provide and create the atmosphere where students can be engaged in current information that affects their country and world at large

Job Requirements:
  • Certification as a school librarian
  • Bachelor’s degree or teaching diploma
  • An up to date pedagogical knowledge
  • Teaching classes up to CSEC level.
  • Teacher is strongly motivated
  • A determination to achieve outstanding results
  • An ability to use ICT (information and communications technology) for teaching and learning
  • A willingness to contribute positively to the ethos of the school
  • Ability to engage and inspire students
  • Commitment to the school and its students
