The successful candidate will possess a minimum of five (5) years’ programming experience, two (2) of which should be in a supervisory.
S/he will have one (1) year applicable working experience in an AS400 online environment, and certifications in Project Management and Database Management - MS SQL, Oracle, as well as experience in research/investigation of system issues.
Duties & Repsonsibilities:
- Gather and analyze information for developing and modifying IT systems, by interviews, surveys and other methods.
- Document fact-finding and study results, and make presentation of findings and recommendations in formal reports or in oral presentation.
- Evaluate and document current systems operation
- Prepare project definition and designs documents for user sign-off
- Determine timelines based on system design
- Represent the department at meetings
- Liaise with project team or requesters to provide status updates regarding progress of IT projects and requests.
- Liaise with software vendors for support, fixes, upgrades to systems
Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of relational database theory and systems analysis and design Methodologies
- Practical knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle
- Awareness of ITIL concepts
- Ability to prepare detailed program specifications and test scripts
- Working knowledge of process design tools
- Knowledge of ICBS would be an asset
- Knowledge of Project Management theories and practices
- Ability to develop Project Definition & Design documents
- Practical experience working with database management systems
